Američki pisac Paul Auster preminuo je u dobi od 77 godina od komplikacija uzrokovanih rakom pluća, potvrdila je Guardianu njegova prijateljica i kolegica Jacki Lyden.

Auster je postao poznat po svojoj "vrlo stiliziranoj, neobično zagonetnoj postmodernističkoj fikciji u kojoj su pripovjedači rijetko nepouzdani, a temelj zapleta se stalno mijenja", napisala je spisateljica Joyce Carol Oates. Austerove priče često se poigravaju temama slučajnosti i sudbine, a mnogi njegovi protagonisti i sami su pisci, piše Tportal.

Paul Auster, "pisac za pisce", a ne za najširu publiku, autor je velikog opusa, a na hrvatski jezik prevedene su njegove brojne knjige: "Newyorška trilogija", "Levijatan", "Sunset park", "Timbuktu", "U zemlji posljednjih stvari", "Čovjek u tami", "Glazba slučaja", "Knjiga iluzija", Mjesečeva palača", "Mr. Vertigo" i "Nevidljivo".

Šire je Auster najpoznatiji kao suscenarist filma "Dim" Waynea Wanga.

za vrijeme pandemije, 2020. godine Austrer je preko Zooma gostovao na 20. Festivalu europske kratke priče.

Zanimljivo je da su na istom festivalu na isti način gostovale njegova bivša i sadašnja supruga, Lydia Davis i Siri Hustvedt, obje uspješne spisateljice.

Američki pisac Paul Auster preminuo je u dobi od 77 godina od komplikacija uzrokovanih rakom pluća, potvrdila je Guardianu njegova prijateljica i kolegica Jacki Lyden.

Auster je postao poznat po svojoj "vrlo stiliziranoj, neobično zagonetnoj postmodernističkoj fikciji u kojoj su pripovjedači rijetko nepouzdani, a temelj zapleta se stalno mijenja", napisala je spisateljica Joyce Carol Oates. Austerove priče često se poigravaju temama slučajnosti i sudbine, a mnogi njegovi protagonisti i sami su pisci, piše Tportal.

Paul Auster, "pisac za pisce", a ne za najširu publiku, autor je velikog opusa, a na hrvatski jezik prevedene su njegove brojne knjige: "Newyorška trilogija", "Levijatan", "Sunset park", "Timbuktu", "U zemlji posljednjih stvari", "Čovjek u tami", "Glazba slučaja", "Knjiga iluzija", Mjesečeva palača", "Mr. Vertigo" i "Nevidljivo".
