Stjepan Jimmy Stanić svirao je na maturalnoj zabavi Drage Diklića. A potonji gospodin, popularni Fiko, još prije moga rođenja (koje nije bilo baš jučer) upisao se u estradne besmrtnike napisavši i snimivši jednu od najljepših balada u povijesti naše popularne glazbe - "Još samo večeras".

Tu divnu melodiju Diklić je pjevao s frizurom pontonkom, koja je, brižno začešljana s jedne strane pa armirana pomadom, premošćavala golu visoravan tjemena. Već tada gospon Drago bio je, dakle, tehnički gledano, ćelav. Eto sada možete steći dojam koliko je, pak, gospon Jimmy star.

Davne 1956. u Zagrebu je gostovao orkestar velikog Dizzieja Gillespiea, ali ne cijeli, jer je njegov kontrabasist zbog nekog razloga zaglavio u Rimu, pa mu je valjalo pronaći domaću zamjenu. Nitko od tadašnjih afirmiranih svirača nije se usudio nastupiti sa slavnim big bandom bez ikakve probe, čak i bez nota, nego samo s golom tablicom akorda, tek toliko da bi znao harmonijski okvir svake pojedine pjesme. Nitko osim drskog i talentiranog Jimmyja koji je hrabro uskočio i besprijekorno odradio svoj posao.

Toliko dobro da mu je Dizzie, navodno, ponudio da se pridruži njegovom orkestru. Do trajnije suradnje između velike međunarodne zvijezde i lokalnog glazbenika koji se prije toga kalio u jednoj bihaćkoj birtiji, ipak nije došlo, no o tome ću malo poslije.

Tridesetak godina kasnije, kao glazbenik na pragu zaslužene mirovine, Stanić je sa svojim Sultanima swinga (u grupi je svirao prvi ešalon zagrebačkih jazzera: bubnjar Boris Tex Benini, basist Krešimir Remeta, pijanist Radan Bosner i saksofonist Miroslav Sedak-Benčić) žario i palio zagrebačkim rokerskim klubom Kulušić, na istoj pozornici na kojoj su noć prije ili poslije njega nastupali bendovi poput, recimo, Ekatarine Velike. Tada mi je gospon Štef izgledao kao fosil. Naime, bio sam dovoljno mlad i glup da vjerujem kako iza pedesete, već na prvoj krivini, počinje duboka starost.

Otada je prošlo skoro četrdeset godina. Sultani swinga (a sva ta gospoda bila su mlađa od Jimmyja) odavno su pokojni, baš kao i svi iz Ekatarine, samo se gospon Štef ne da. I dalje svira, nastupa, snima, vozi auto, čak i puši. Možemo li onda reći da je popularnom vlaškovuličancu super, da mu je život pjesma?

Ne bih se baš istrčavao s preuranjenim zaključcima. Naime, Jimmy je nekidan priznao kako je "konačno progledao", potom se "rasrdio", da bi se na koncu odlučio angažirati u političkom životu zemlje. Postao je izbornim adutom Domovinskog pokreta, ksenofobne, pače širokofobne stranke koja gaji temeljiti, nemilosrdni prezir prema svima koji su drukčiji, dakle, nisu karikaturalne Hrvatine.

Nedavno sam čuo i zašto mu je onomad propala turneja s Dizzijem Giespijem. Dugo godina živio sam u potpuno pogrešnom uvjerenju kako mu se nije dalo otići preko oceana, jer nije mogao napustiti svoj voljeni Zagreb, mamu, dečke, puce i tak dalje.

No stvar je u tome da se tih dana, a sve se događalo neposredno nakon smrti revolucionara Moše Pijade, Jimmy, čestiti Hrvat, a k tome i nenadmašno duhovit, nešto našalio na račun pokojnika, pa su mu okrutne komunističke vlasti na nekoliko godina oduzele putovnicu.

Tada se, međutim, nije ni rasrdio, niti su mu se otvorile oči - bilo bi to nezgodno i kažnjivo - nego je krotko istrpio udarac sudbine, da bi mu film pukao tek nedavno, s navršenih devedeset i pet.

Poslije svega, ne preostaje mi ništa drugo nego da pozovem na žurno osnivanje ureda pučkog pravobranitelja za zaštitu starijih osoba, koji bi damama i gospodi u jeseni života bio pri ruci da se ne brukaju pod stare dane, da ne prljaju lijepe uspomene na sve dobro što su učinili dok su ih kognitivne sposobnosti još uvijek služile.

Stjepan Jimmy Stanić svirao je na maturalnoj zabavi Drage Diklića. A potonji gospodin, popularni Fiko, još prije moga rođenja (koje nije bilo baš jučer) upisao se u estradne besmrtnike napisavši i snimivši jednu od najljepših balada u povijesti naše popularne glazbe - "Još samo večeras".

Tu divnu melodiju Diklić je pjevao s frizurom pontonkom, koja je, brižno začešljana s jedne strane pa armirana pomadom, premošćavala golu visoravan tjemena. Već tada gospon Drago bio je, dakle, tehnički gledano, ćelav. Eto sada možete steći dojam koliko je, pak, gospon Jimmy star.

Davne 1956. u Zagrebu je gostovao orkestar velikog Dizzieja Gillespiea, ali ne cijeli, jer je njegov kontrabasist zbog nekog razloga zaglavio u Rimu, pa mu je valjalo pronaći domaću zamjenu. Nitko od tadašnjih afirmiranih svirača nije se usudio nastupiti sa slavnim big bandom bez ikakve probe, čak i bez nota, nego samo s golom tablicom akorda, tek toliko da bi znao harmonijski okvir svake pojedine pjesme. Nitko osim drskog i talentiranog Jimmyja koji je hrabro uskočio i besprijekorno odradio svoj posao.

Toliko dobro da mu je Dizzie, navodno, ponudio da se pridruži njegovom orkestru. Do trajnije suradnje između velike međunarodne zvijezde i lokalnog glazbenika koji se prije toga kalio u jednoj bihaćkoj birtiji, ipak nije došlo, no o tome ću malo poslije.

Tridesetak godina kasnije, kao glazbenik na pragu zaslužene mirovine, Stanić je sa svojim Sultanima swinga (u grupi je svirao prvi ešalon zagrebačkih jazzera: bubnjar Boris Tex Benini, basist Krešimir Remeta, pijanist Radan Bosner i saksofonist Miroslav Sedak-Benčić) žario i palio zagrebačkim rokerskim klubom Kulušić, na istoj pozornici na kojoj su noć prije ili poslije njega nastupali bendovi poput, recimo, Ekatarine Velike. Tada mi je gospon Štef izgledao kao fosil. Naime, bio sam dovoljno mlad i glup da vjerujem kako iza pedesete, već na prvoj krivini, počinje duboka starost.

Otada je prošlo skoro četrdeset godina. Sultani swinga (a sva ta gospoda bila su mlađa od Jimmyja) odavno su pokojni, baš kao i svi iz Ekatarine, samo se gospon Štef ne da. I dalje svira, nastupa, snima, vozi auto, čak i puši. Možemo li onda reći da je popularnom vlaškovuličancu super, da mu je život pjesma?

Ne bih se baš istrčavao s preuranjenim zaključcima. Naime, Jimmy je nekidan priznao kako je "konačno progledao", potom se "rasrdio", da bi se na koncu odlučio angažirati u političkom životu zemlje. Postao je izbornim adutom Domovinskog pokreta, ksenofobne, pače širokofobne stranke koja gaji temeljiti, nemilosrdni prezir prema svima koji su drukčiji, dakle, nisu karikaturalne Hrvatine.

Nedavno sam čuo i zašto mu je onomad propala turneja s Dizzijem Giespijem. Dugo godina živio sam u potpuno pogrešnom uvjerenju kako mu se nije dalo otići preko oceana, jer nije mogao napustiti svoj voljeni Zagreb, mamu, dečke, puce i tak dalje.

No stvar je u tome da se tih dana, a sve se događalo neposredno nakon smrti revolucionara Moše Pijade, Jimmy, čestiti Hrvat, a k tome i nenadmašno duhovit, nešto našalio na račun pokojnika, pa su mu okrutne komunističke vlasti na nekoliko godina oduzele putovnicu.

Tada se, međutim, nije ni rasrdio, niti su mu se otvorile oči - bilo bi to nezgodno i kažnjivo - nego je krotko istrpio udarac sudbine, da bi mu film pukao tek nedavno, s navršenih devedeset i pet.

Poslije svega, ne preostaje mi ništa drugo nego da pozovem na žurno osnivanje ureda pučkog pravobranitelja za zaštitu starijih osoba, koji bi damama i gospodi u jeseni života bio pri ruci da se ne brukaju pod stare dane, da ne prljaju lijepe uspomene na sve dobro što su učinili dok su ih kognitivne sposobnosti još uvijek služile.
