Hrvatski nogometaš Ivan Rakitić rekao je u četvrtak da će produžiti ugovor sa saudijskim klubom Al-Shabab "bude li sve išlo dobro" jer je zadovoljan ulogom u klubu i životom u Rijadu.

Rakitić, 36-godišnji vezni igrač, u siječnju je otišao iz Seville pa potpisao ugovor s Al-Shababom do ljeta 2025.

"Jako sam zadovoljan, a bude li sve išlo dobro produžit ćemo ga, nema nikakvog problema. Zadovoljan sam, puno pomažem klubu i suigračima, a zato sam i došao", izjavio je za radijsku postaju Radio Marca Sevilla.

Rekao je da je dolazak u Saudijsku Arabiju, naftom bogatu zemlju koja zadnjih godina troši puno novca na nogomet, "velika promjena".

"Naravno da mi jako nedostaju moj grad, klub, ljudi i prijatelji", izjavio je misleći na španjolski grad Sevillu gdje je osvojio Europsku ligu 2014. i 2023.

"Ali jako sam zadovoljan ovdje. Doista nam je dobro. Grad je spektakularan, ljudi ljubazni i otvoreni, upoznajem povijest Saudijske Arabije...", izjavio je.

Njegova supruga Raquel, rođena u Sevilli, i kćeri "su oduševljene". Kćeri su krenule u školu i stekle puno prijateljica.

"Sretni smo", naglasio je Rakitić.

Rekao je da ga je pozitivno iznenadilo ono što je zatekao.

"Još uvijek ostaje prostora da bi se ova liga mogla uspoređivati sa španjolskom, ali iznenadili su me lokalni igrači svojim talentom. Potrebno im je pomoći u radu na mnogim detaljima", izjavio je.

Rakitić, koji je s Hrvatskom igrao u finalu Svjetskog prvenstva 2018., kaže da je u Saudijskoj Arabiji "sjajna nogometna atmosfera".

"Na ulici mi govore o Sevilli, Barci, o La Ligi, pitaju svašta. Oni žive nogomet", rekao je. "Liga napreduje iz mjeseca u mjesec pa sam ponosan što sam i ja dio tog rasta", dodao je.

Rakitić je odigrao pet utakmica od kada je došao u Al-Shabab. Trenutno ima "lakšu ozljedu mišića koju je potrebno zaliječiti", ali bi se uskoro trebao vratiti na teren. Al-Shabab zauzima 9. mjesto među 18 klubova prve lige.

"Rast ćemo na tablici iz tjedna u tjedan jer su se u siječnju promijenile stvari nabolje, a klub se stabilizirao", rekao je. Prije toga je klub promijenio dva predsjednika i dva trenera.

"Došao nam je novi portugalski trener (Vitor Pereira) s iskustvom rada u klubovima poput Porta i Fenerbahčea. Radimo dobro i jaki smo", zaključio je Rakitić.

Hrvatski nogometaš Ivan Rakitić rekao je u četvrtak da će produžiti ugovor sa saudijskim klubom Al-Shabab "bude li sve išlo dobro" jer je zadovoljan ulogom u klubu i životom u Rijadu.

Rakitić, 36-godišnji vezni igrač, u siječnju je otišao iz Seville pa potpisao ugovor s Al-Shababom do ljeta 2025.

"Jako sam zadovoljan, a bude li sve išlo dobro produžit ćemo ga, nema nikakvog problema. Zadovoljan sam, puno pomažem klubu i suigračima, a zato sam i došao", izjavio je za radijsku postaju Radio Marca Sevilla.

Rekao je da je dolazak u Saudijsku Arabiju, naftom bogatu zemlju koja zadnjih godina troši puno novca na nogomet, "velika promjena".

"Naravno da mi jako nedostaju moj grad, klub, ljudi i prijatelji", izjavio je misleći na španjolski grad Sevillu gdje je osvojio Europsku ligu 2014. i 2023.

"Ali jako sam zadovoljan ovdje. Doista nam je dobro. Grad je spektakularan, ljudi ljubazni i otvoreni, upoznajem povijest Saudijske Arabije...", izjavio je.

Njegova supruga Raquel, rođena u Sevilli, i kćeri "su oduševljene". Kćeri su krenule u školu i stekle puno prijateljica.

"Sretni smo", naglasio je Rakitić.

Rekao je da ga je pozitivno iznenadilo ono što je zatekao.

"Još uvijek ostaje prostora da bi se ova liga mogla uspoređivati sa španjolskom, ali iznenadili su me lokalni igrači svojim talentom. Potrebno im je pomoći u radu na mnogim detaljima", izjavio je.

Rakitić, koji je s Hrvatskom igrao u finalu Svjetskog prvenstva 2018., kaže da je u Saudijskoj Arabiji "sjajna nogometna atmosfera".

"Na ulici mi govore o Sevilli, Barci, o La Ligi, pitaju svašta. Oni žive nogomet", rekao je. "Liga napreduje iz mjeseca u mjesec pa sam ponosan što sam i ja dio tog rasta", dodao je.

Rakitić je odigrao pet utakmica od kada je došao u Al-Shabab. Trenutno ima "lakšu ozljedu mišića koju je potrebno zaliječiti", ali bi se uskoro trebao vratiti na teren. Al-Shabab zauzima 9. mjesto među 18 klubova prve lige.

"Rast ćemo na tablici iz tjedna u tjedan jer su se u siječnju promijenile stvari nabolje, a klub se stabilizirao", rekao je. Prije toga je klub promijenio dva predsjednika i dva trenera.

"Došao nam je novi portugalski trener (Vitor Pereira) s iskustvom rada u klubovima poput Porta i Fenerbahčea. Radimo dobro i jaki smo", zaključio je Rakitić.

Hrvatski nogometaš Ivan Rakitić rekao je u četvrtak da će produžiti ugovor sa saudijskim klubom Al-Shabab "bude li sve išlo dobro" jer je zadovoljan ulogom u klubu i životom u Rijadu.

Rakitić, 36-godišnji vezni igrač, u siječnju je otišao iz Seville pa potpisao ugovor s Al-Shababom do ljeta 2025.

"Jako sam zadovoljan, a bude li sve išlo dobro produžit ćemo ga, nema nikakvog problema. Zadovoljan sam, puno pomažem klubu i suigračima, a zato sam i došao", izjavio je za radijsku postaju Radio Marca Sevilla.
