Prema novom istraživanju objavljenom u časopisu Cancer, aspirin bi mogao igrati ulogu u prevenciji i liječenju kolorektalnog raka.

Točnije, kroz istraživanje se otkrilo da ljudi s kolorektalnim rakom, koji su uzimali aspirin, bilježe manje širenje bolesti na limfne čvorove od onih koji ga nisu uzimali. Čini se da aspirin ujedno pomaže tjelesnom imunološkom sustavu da pronađe stanice raka.

I druge studije pokazale su vezu između upotrebe aspirina i ishoda raka debelog crijeva, ali točan mehanizam iza njegova učinka na bolest ostao je nejasan.

Stručnjaci tvrde kako nova studija pokazuje da aspirin može prilagoditi funkciju imunološkog sustava tako da bude oprezniji za stanice raka i bolje ih eliminira.

Nije za svakoga

Međutim, ostaju mnoga pitanja o povezanosti upotrebe aspirina i raka debelog crijeva, uključujući i tko bi mogao imati koristi od lijeka. Jer, niske doze aspirina uzrokuju nisku stopu ozbiljnog krvarenja pa zbog tog rizika nije preporučljiv svakom pacijentu.

Za potrebe studije, istraživači su analizirali uzorke tkiva 238 ljudi koji su bili podvrgnuti operaciji za liječenje raka debelog crijeva od 2015. do 2019. Pacijenti su uključivali 148 muškaraca i 90 žena koji su u prosjeku bili u ranim sedamdesetima. Od njih 238 pacijenata, 12 posto je uzimalo male doze aspirina dnevno i nitko nije bio podvrgnut kemoterapiji ili zračenju. Pokazalo se da je kod njih širenje bilo slabijih razmjera. Stoga, stručnjaci su zaključili da bi aspirin mogao pomoći tijelu da bolje prepozna stanice raka.

Opsežnije studije

Ali, prije konkretnijih zaključaka, potrebno je obaviti opsežnije studije i otkriti kako i kome aspirin može pomoći, odnosno, kako ga primijeniti da bude efikasniji.

Nadajmo se da će ti zaključci stići što prije jer stopa raka debelog crijeva porasla je za dva posto kod osoba mlađih od 50 godina i zato je ovo istraživanje iznimno značajno.

Predviđa se da će rak debelog crijeva biti uzrok smrti više od 53.000 ljudi ove godine samo u Sjedinjenim Američkim Državama. Time bi postao drugi najsmrtonosniji rak u toj zemlji. Na prvom je mjestu rak pluća, koji bi u ovoj godini mogao biti uzrok smrti kod više od 120.000 osoba.

Prema novom istraživanju objavljenom u časopisu Cancer, aspirin bi mogao igrati ulogu u prevenciji i liječenju kolorektalnog raka.

Točnije, kroz istraživanje se otkrilo da ljudi s kolorektalnim rakom, koji su uzimali aspirin, bilježe manje širenje bolesti na limfne čvorove od onih koji ga nisu uzimali. Čini se da aspirin ujedno pomaže tjelesnom imunološkom sustavu da pronađe stanice raka.

I druge studije pokazale su vezu između upotrebe aspirina i ishoda raka debelog crijeva, ali točan mehanizam iza njegova učinka na bolest ostao je nejasan.

Stručnjaci tvrde kako nova studija pokazuje da aspirin može prilagoditi funkciju imunološkog sustava tako da bude oprezniji za stanice raka i bolje ih eliminira.

Nije za svakoga

Međutim, ostaju mnoga pitanja o povezanosti upotrebe aspirina i raka debelog crijeva, uključujući i tko bi mogao imati koristi od lijeka. Jer, niske doze aspirina uzrokuju nisku stopu ozbiljnog krvarenja pa zbog tog rizika nije preporučljiv svakom pacijentu.

Za potrebe studije, istraživači su analizirali uzorke tkiva 238 ljudi koji su bili podvrgnuti operaciji za liječenje raka debelog crijeva od 2015. do 2019. Pacijenti su uključivali 148 muškaraca i 90 žena koji su u prosjeku bili u ranim sedamdesetima. Od njih 238 pacijenata, 12 posto je uzimalo male doze aspirina dnevno i nitko nije bio podvrgnut kemoterapiji ili zračenju. Pokazalo se da je kod njih širenje bilo slabijih razmjera. Stoga, stručnjaci su zaključili da bi aspirin mogao pomoći tijelu da bolje prepozna stanice raka.

Opsežnije studije

Ali, prije konkretnijih zaključaka, potrebno je obaviti opsežnije studije i otkriti kako i kome aspirin može pomoći, odnosno, kako ga primijeniti da bude efikasniji.

Nadajmo se da će ti zaključci stići što prije jer stopa raka debelog crijeva porasla je za dva posto kod osoba mlađih od 50 godina i zato je ovo istraživanje iznimno značajno.

Predviđa se da će rak debelog crijeva biti uzrok smrti više od 53.000 ljudi ove godine samo u Sjedinjenim Američkim Državama. Time bi postao drugi najsmrtonosniji rak u toj zemlji. Na prvom je mjestu rak pluća, koji bi u ovoj godini mogao biti uzrok smrti kod više od 120.000 osoba.
