Svatko vezuje određenu pjesmu za neke drage osobe ili dragocjene trenutke i ona ima magičnu transportirajuću moć vratiti nas u točno vrijeme kad smo je prvi put čuli, izazivajući pritom bujicu (o)sjećanja. Pjesme, dakle, mogu funkcionirati poput svojevrsnih malih intimnih vremeplova, baš kao i filmovi.

Ima, tako, smisla da budu iskorištene za visokokonceptualnu "time travel" premisu koja zadnjih godina naseljava i romantični žanr ("Žena vremenskog putnika", "Pravi trenutak"), ne samo "matične" SF-ove ("Terminator", "Povratak u budućnost", "12 majmuna", "Donnie Darko", "Izvorni kod", "Predodređenje", "Looper"...).

U ne pretjerano zapaženoj romansi "Pritisni play i voli ponovo" iz 2022. junakinja bi se doslovno teleportirala u prošlost svaki put kad bi slušala kompilacijsku audio-kasetu, tzv. "mix tape", koju joj je darovao momak i dobila priliku da ga nanovo vidi nakon što je poginuo.

Dvije godine poslije, dobili smo romantičnu dramu slične premise "The Greatest Hits" ("Najveći hitovi") koja je plasirana na streaming servise Hulu i Disney+ nakon premijere na South by Southwest Film Festivalu i limitirane distribucije u američkim kinima.

Ovaj put se heroina Harriet (divna Lucy Boynton, otkriće "Raspjevane ulice", bolja od filma) doslovce transportira natrag u prošlost kad, najčešće na ploči, čuje pjesmu koju je slušala s pokojnim dečkom Maxom (David Corenswet, novi Superman), stradalim u prometnoj nesreći.

Tako Harriet ponovno proživljava momente s Maxom, ali i pokušava ga spasiti od usuda kao "future girl". Harriet je kompleksniji ili barem interesantniji lik od prethodnice iz filma "Press Play", a to se može reći i za "The Greatest Hits" redatelja i scenarista Neda Bensona (enormno ambiciozni prvijenac "The Disappearance Of Eleanor Rigby" iz 2014. s Jamesom McAavoyjem i Jessicom Chastain, prikazan u Cannesu).

Ona je, progonjena prošlošću, zapela u začaranom krugu žalovanja i šeta unaokolo sa slušalicama na ušima da sama kontrolira glazbeno-vremeplovne "triggere" i posljedične povratke unatrag kroz vrijeme, a kvaka je da na grupi za podršku ožalošćenima s mantrom "Gubitak može biti vječan, ali tuga je privremena" upoznaje potencijalno novog momka Davida (Justin H. Min; "Poslije Yanga") koji je ostao bez roditelja, što je postavlja u ljubavni trokut i pozicionira između onog jučer i danas.

Benson je s "Najvećim hitovima" napravio "mix-tape" filmova "Dućan snova", "Vječni sjaj nepobjedivog uma" i "Sve u isto vrijeme" (bez pripadajućih bizarnosti potonjeg). Redatelj imponira načelnom ambicijom, iako ne uspijeva do kraja iskoristiti sve potencijale filma o žaljenju u okviru samozadanog "space-time" kontinuuma i pogoditi u srce kako je mogao, tj. biva razapet između romantične drame i filozofskog SF-a s pitanjem bi li spasili blisku osobu pod cijenu da vas se ona više ne sjeća.

Ipak, "The Greatest Hits" na mahove biva transcendirajuća romansa i pogađa emotivne note koje vraćaju junakinju i gledatelja u neki trenutak u vremenu i nosi osnažujuću poruku. Bolje pokušati nastaviti živjeti u sadašnjosti nego proživljavati prošlost. Vrijeme se može vratiti samo na filmu.

Svatko vezuje određenu pjesmu za neke drage osobe ili dragocjene trenutke i ona ima magičnu transportirajuću moć vratiti nas u točno vrijeme kad smo je prvi put čuli, izazivajući pritom bujicu (o)sjećanja. Pjesme, dakle, mogu funkcionirati poput svojevrsnih malih intimnih vremeplova, baš kao i filmovi.

Ima, tako, smisla da budu iskorištene za visokokonceptualnu "time travel" premisu koja zadnjih godina naseljava i romantični žanr ("Žena vremenskog putnika", "Pravi trenutak"), ne samo "matične" SF-ove ("Terminator", "Povratak u budućnost", "12 majmuna", "Donnie Darko", "Izvorni kod", "Predodređenje", "Looper"...).

U ne pretjerano zapaženoj romansi "Pritisni play i voli ponovo" iz 2022. junakinja bi se doslovno teleportirala u prošlost svaki put kad bi slušala kompilacijsku audio-kasetu, tzv. "mix tape", koju joj je darovao momak i dobila priliku da ga nanovo vidi nakon što je poginuo.

Dvije godine poslije, dobili smo romantičnu dramu slične premise "The Greatest Hits" ("Najveći hitovi") koja je plasirana na streaming servise Hulu i Disney+ nakon premijere na South by Southwest Film Festivalu i limitirane distribucije u američkim kinima.

Ovaj put se heroina Harriet (divna Lucy Boynton, otkriće "Raspjevane ulice", bolja od filma) doslovce transportira natrag u prošlost kad, najčešće na ploči, čuje pjesmu koju je slušala s pokojnim dečkom Maxom (David Corenswet, novi Superman), stradalim u prometnoj nesreći.

Tako Harriet ponovno proživljava momente s Maxom, ali i pokušava ga spasiti od usuda kao "future girl". Harriet je kompleksniji ili barem interesantniji lik od prethodnice iz filma "Press Play", a to se može reći i za "The Greatest Hits" redatelja i scenarista Neda Bensona (enormno ambiciozni prvijenac "The Disappearance Of Eleanor Rigby" iz 2014. s Jamesom McAavoyjem i Jessicom Chastain, prikazan u Cannesu).

Ona je, progonjena prošlošću, zapela u začaranom krugu žalovanja i šeta unaokolo sa slušalicama na ušima da sama kontrolira glazbeno-vremeplovne "triggere" i posljedične povratke unatrag kroz vrijeme, a kvaka je da na grupi za podršku ožalošćenima s mantrom "Gubitak može biti vječan, ali tuga je privremena" upoznaje potencijalno novog momka Davida (Justin H. Min; "Poslije Yanga") koji je ostao bez roditelja, što je postavlja u ljubavni trokut i pozicionira između onog jučer i danas.

Benson je s "Najvećim hitovima" napravio "mix-tape" filmova "Dućan snova", "Vječni sjaj nepobjedivog uma" i "Sve u isto vrijeme" (bez pripadajućih bizarnosti potonjeg). Redatelj imponira načelnom ambicijom, iako ne uspijeva do kraja iskoristiti sve potencijale filma o žaljenju u okviru samozadanog "space-time" kontinuuma i pogoditi u srce kako je mogao, tj. biva razapet između romantične drame i filozofskog SF-a s pitanjem bi li spasili blisku osobu pod cijenu da vas se ona više ne sjeća.

Ipak, "The Greatest Hits" na mahove biva transcendirajuća romansa i pogađa emotivne note koje vraćaju junakinju i gledatelja u neki trenutak u vremenu i nosi osnažujuću poruku. Bolje pokušati nastaviti živjeti u sadašnjosti nego proživljavati prošlost. Vrijeme se može vratiti samo na filmu.
