Planirani datum početka hrvatske kinodistribucije remakea "Boje purpura" ("The Color Purple") bio je 21. ožujka 2024. godine. Međutim, film je neplanirano maknut iz kinonajava nedugo prije dodjele Oscara, gdje se natjecao u kategoriji sporedne ženske uloge Danielle Brooks. Nepunih mjesec dana kasnije, sredinom travnja, "Boja purpura" doživjela je hrvatsku premijeru na HBO Maxu kao njegov najzvučniji filmski naslov mjeseca.

"The Color Purple" ima vraški dobar pedigre: istoimeni, Pulitzerom ovjenčan roman Alice Walker objavljen je 1982., a tri godine poslije slavni redatelj Steven Spielberg snimio je film s tada nepoznatom Whoopi Goldberg, glumačkom debitanticom Oprah Winfrey i Dannyjem Gloverom u glavnim ulogama, nominiran za čak jedanaest Oscara (dodjelom je na koncu dominirala "Moja Afrika").

Godine 2005. "Boja purpura" zaživjela je i na Broadwayu kao mjuzikl. Ova nova verzija, koju kao redatelj potpisuje Blitz Bazawule, više dođe kao adaptacija tog mjuzikla, iako se poziva i na Spielbergov film. Spielberg je sada producent, Winfrey također, a Goldberg se nakratko pojavljuje kao babica vlastitog lika iz originala (Celie) i nova glumica Phylicia Pearl Mpasi dosta podsjeća na mladu Whoopi prije nego što ulogu preuzme starija Fantasia Barrino.

S druge strane, Brooks reprizira svoju ulogu prkosne Sofije (nekoć Winfrey) iz mjuzikla za koju je bila nominirana za nagradu Tony prije nego što je za izvedbu u filmu dobila nominaciju za Oscara i Zlatni globus. Dakle, "The Color Purple" prošao je sličan put kao "Mean Girls": nedavno smo gledali remake "Opasnih djevojaka" prema broadwayskom mjuziklu inspiriranom izvornim filmom.

No "Boja purpura" teže trpi tranziciju od filma do "tko pjeva, zlo ne misli" mjuzikla i natrag. Patnje jedne tinejdžerice u novoj srednjoškolskoj sredini lakše je načiniti lepršavo pjevno-plesnima od patnji jedne mlade Afroamerikanke iz ruralne Georgije s početka 20. stoljeća koje uključuju iznimno teške teme kao što su rasizam, zlostavljanje, siromaštvo...

Sirota Celie i u ovoj verziji tragične priče doživljava razne okrutnosti, poput silovanja od muških zlostavljača, najprije oca Alfonsa (Deon Cole), koji je prodavao njezinu djecu, a zatim i starijeg supruga, farmera Alberta "Mistera" Johnsona (Colman Domingo preuzeo ulogu od Glovera).

Naravno, svijet zaslužuje filmski mjuzikl s dominantno crnim glumcima kakvih nije bilo u vrijeme zlatnog doba žanra, ali taj mjuzikl ne bi nužno trebao biti adaptacija romana "The Color Purple". Mjuziklovska "Boja purpura" ublažava i romantizira Spielbergovu dramu odmah od prve scene kad Celie i njezina sestra Nettie (Halle Bailey; nova "Mala sirena") radosno povedu pjesmu "Gospodinu u čast".

Uvodna scena postavlja "The Color Purple" kao mjuzikl o ženskoj solidarnosti i sestrinstvu u skladu s današnjim vremenom, s naglaskom na crne žene koje tipuju na ustrajnost ljudskog duha i zazivaju trijumf nad nedaćama u stihovima tipa "sunce ne obasjava svaki dan, ali idemo dalje, ništa te neće slomiti" i "stojim prkosno kao jablan, zahvalna za svaki dan koji proživim".

Ipak, pjevne i plesne točke znaju impresionirati koreografskom, vokalnom ili scenografskom spektakularnošću, tipa da su ambijentirane pokraj vodopada ili izmaštane, poput plesa na divovskom gramofonu i kinoekranu.

Potonja je scena najimpresivnija: Celie i biseksualna Shug Avery (Taraji P. Henson) odlaze u kino na stvarni nijemi film s afroameričkim glumcima "The Flying Ace" iz 1926. i zamisle sebe na platnu, što im pomaže da se oslobode i ostvare lezbijski poljubac. "Boja purpura" tu najviše dobiva boju.

Planirani datum početka hrvatske kinodistribucije remakea "Boje purpura" ("The Color Purple") bio je 21. ožujka 2024. godine. Međutim, film je neplanirano maknut iz kinonajava nedugo prije dodjele Oscara, gdje se natjecao u kategoriji sporedne ženske uloge Danielle Brooks. Nepunih mjesec dana kasnije, sredinom travnja, "Boja purpura" doživjela je hrvatsku premijeru na HBO Maxu kao njegov najzvučniji filmski naslov mjeseca.

"The Color Purple" ima vraški dobar pedigre: istoimeni, Pulitzerom ovjenčan roman Alice Walker objavljen je 1982., a tri godine poslije slavni redatelj Steven Spielberg snimio je film s tada nepoznatom Whoopi Goldberg, glumačkom debitanticom Oprah Winfrey i Dannyjem Gloverom u glavnim ulogama, nominiran za čak jedanaest Oscara (dodjelom je na koncu dominirala "Moja Afrika").

Godine 2005. "Boja purpura" zaživjela je i na Broadwayu kao mjuzikl. Ova nova verzija, koju kao redatelj potpisuje Blitz Bazawule, više dođe kao adaptacija tog mjuzikla, iako se poziva i na Spielbergov film. Spielberg je sada producent, Winfrey također, a Goldberg se nakratko pojavljuje kao babica vlastitog lika iz originala (Celie) i nova glumica Phylicia Pearl Mpasi dosta podsjeća na mladu Whoopi prije nego što ulogu preuzme starija Fantasia Barrino.

S druge strane, Brooks reprizira svoju ulogu prkosne Sofije (nekoć Winfrey) iz mjuzikla za koju je bila nominirana za nagradu Tony prije nego što je za izvedbu u filmu dobila nominaciju za Oscara i Zlatni globus. Dakle, "The Color Purple" prošao je sličan put kao "Mean Girls": nedavno smo gledali remake "Opasnih djevojaka" prema broadwayskom mjuziklu inspiriranom izvornim filmom.

No "Boja purpura" teže trpi tranziciju od filma do "tko pjeva, zlo ne misli" mjuzikla i natrag. Patnje jedne tinejdžerice u novoj srednjoškolskoj sredini lakše je načiniti lepršavo pjevno-plesnima od patnji jedne mlade Afroamerikanke iz ruralne Georgije s početka 20. stoljeća koje uključuju iznimno teške teme kao što su rasizam, zlostavljanje, siromaštvo...

Sirota Celie i u ovoj verziji tragične priče doživljava razne okrutnosti, poput silovanja od muških zlostavljača, najprije oca Alfonsa (Deon Cole), koji je prodavao njezinu djecu, a zatim i starijeg supruga, farmera Alberta "Mistera" Johnsona (Colman Domingo preuzeo ulogu od Glovera).

Naravno, svijet zaslužuje filmski mjuzikl s dominantno crnim glumcima kakvih nije bilo u vrijeme zlatnog doba žanra, ali taj mjuzikl ne bi nužno trebao biti adaptacija romana "The Color Purple". Mjuziklovska "Boja purpura" ublažava i romantizira Spielbergovu dramu odmah od prve scene kad Celie i njezina sestra Nettie (Halle Bailey; nova "Mala sirena") radosno povedu pjesmu "Gospodinu u čast".

Uvodna scena postavlja "The Color Purple" kao mjuzikl o ženskoj solidarnosti i sestrinstvu u skladu s današnjim vremenom, s naglaskom na crne žene koje tipuju na ustrajnost ljudskog duha i zazivaju trijumf nad nedaćama u stihovima tipa "sunce ne obasjava svaki dan, ali idemo dalje, ništa te neće slomiti" i "stojim prkosno kao jablan, zahvalna za svaki dan koji proživim".

Ipak, pjevne i plesne točke znaju impresionirati koreografskom, vokalnom ili scenografskom spektakularnošću, tipa da su ambijentirane pokraj vodopada ili izmaštane, poput plesa na divovskom gramofonu i kinoekranu.

Potonja je scena najimpresivnija: Celie i biseksualna Shug Avery (Taraji P. Henson) odlaze u kino na stvarni nijemi film s afroameričkim glumcima "The Flying Ace" iz 1926. i zamisle sebe na platnu, što im pomaže da se oslobode i ostvare lezbijski poljubac. "Boja purpura" tu najviše dobiva boju.

‘Boja purpura‘ (2023.): Tko pjeva, remake ne misli

Planirani datum početka hrvatske kinodistribucije remakea "Boje purpura" ("The Color Purple") bio je 21. ožujka 2024. godine. Međutim, film je neplanirano maknut iz kinonajava nedugo prije dodjele Oscara, gdje se natjecao u kategoriji sporedne ženske uloge Danielle Brooks. Nepunih mjesec dana kasnije, sredinom travnja, "Boja purpura" doživjela je hrvatsku premijeru na HBO Maxu kao njegov najzvučniji filmski naslov mjeseca.

"The Color Purple" ima vraški dobar pedigre: istoimeni, Pulitzerom ovjenčan roman Alice Walker objavljen je 1982., a tri godine poslije slavni redatelj Steven Spielberg snimio je film s tada nepoznatom Whoopi Goldberg, glumačkom debitanticom Oprah Winfrey i Dannyjem Gloverom u glavnim ulogama, nominiran za čak jedanaest Oscara (dodjelom je na koncu dominirala "Moja Afrika").

Godine 2005. "Boja purpura" zaživjela je i na Broadwayu kao mjuzikl. Ova nova verzija, koju kao redatelj potpisuje Blitz Bazawule, više dođe kao adaptacija tog mjuzikla, iako se poziva i na Spielbergov film. Spielberg je sada producent, Winfrey također, a Goldberg se nakratko pojavljuje kao babica vlastitog lika iz originala (Celie) i nova glumica Phylicia Pearl Mpasi dosta podsjeća na mladu Whoopi prije nego što ulogu preuzme starija Fantasia Barrino.

S druge strane, Brooks reprizira svoju ulogu prkosne Sofije (nekoć Winfrey) iz mjuzikla za koju je bila nominirana za nagradu Tony prije nego što je za izvedbu u filmu dobila nominaciju za Oscara i Zlatni globus. Dakle, "The Color Purple" prošao je sličan put kao "Mean Girls": nedavno smo gledali remake "Opasnih djevojaka" prema broadwayskom mjuziklu inspiriranom izvornim filmom.

No "Boja purpura" teže trpi tranziciju od filma do "tko pjeva, zlo ne misli" mjuzikla i natrag. Patnje jedne tinejdžerice u novoj srednjoškolskoj sredini lakše je načiniti lepršavo pjevno-plesnima od patnji jedne mlade Afroamerikanke iz ruralne Georgije s početka 20. stoljeća koje uključuju iznimno teške teme kao što su rasizam, zlostavljanje, siromaštvo...

Sirota Celie i u ovoj verziji tragične priče doživljava razne okrutnosti, poput silovanja od muških zlostavljača, najprije oca Alfonsa (Deon Cole), koji je prodavao njezinu djecu, a zatim i starijeg supruga, farmera Alberta "Mistera" Johnsona (Colman Domingo preuzeo ulogu od Glovera).

Naravno, svijet zaslužuje filmski mjuzikl s dominantno crnim glumcima kakvih nije bilo u vrijeme zlatnog doba žanra, ali taj mjuzikl ne bi nužno trebao biti adaptacija romana "The Color Purple". Mjuziklovska "Boja purpura" ublažava i romantizira Spielbergovu dramu odmah od prve scene kad Celie i njezina sestra Nettie (Halle Bailey; nova "Mala sirena") radosno povedu pjesmu "Gospodinu u čast".

Uvodna scena postavlja "The Color Purple" kao mjuzikl o ženskoj solidarnosti i sestrinstvu u skladu s današnjim vremenom, s naglaskom na crne žene koje tipuju na ustrajnost ljudskog duha i zazivaju trijumf nad nedaćama u stihovima tipa "sunce ne obasjava svaki dan, ali idemo dalje, ništa te neće slomiti" i "stojim prkosno kao jablan, zahvalna za svaki dan koji proživim".

Ipak, pjevne i plesne točke znaju impresionirati koreografskom, vokalnom ili scenografskom spektakularnošću, tipa da su ambijentirane pokraj vodopada ili izmaštane, poput plesa na divovskom gramofonu i kinoekranu.

Potonja je scena najimpresivnija: Celie i biseksualna Shug Avery (Taraji P. Henson) odlaze u kino na stvarni nijemi film s afroameričkim glumcima "The Flying Ace" iz 1926. i zamisle sebe na platnu, što im pomaže da se oslobode i ostvare lezbijski poljubac. "Boja purpura" tu najviše dobiva boju.
